Researcher from INEGI was recognised by Chinese universities
The INEGI’s researcher José Correia was recognised by the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China and form Beihang University, due to his relevant scientific contributions in the areas of fatigue, fracture and structural integrity.
“I consider that this is a recognition of the scientific work developed in the last 5 years, particularly in the fields of fatigue strength of structural and mechanical components and the prediction of fatigue life of mechanical systems”, says José Correia.
Much of the research activity of the researcher was carried out at INEGI and at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP), as part of his postdoctoral project - funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology - entitled “Advanced methodologies for structural analysis taking into account fatigue and seismic actions”.
“INEGI has always provided me with all the conditions I needed for the successful completion of my postdoctoral project. So, I am grateful for all the institutional support that was never missing”, adds José Correia.
Besides being a researcher at INEGI and at the R&D Institute for Structures and Construction (CONSTRUCT), José Correia is currently a guest lecturer at FEUP, at the Faculty of Science and Technology at the University of Coimbra, as well as at the Structural Department at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Construction Geosciences of Delft Technical University (Netherlands). He is also Chairman of the European Technical Commission TC12 - Safety and Risk Analysis of Large Structures and Structural Details of the European Structural Integrity Society (ESIS).
