INEGI is part of the technological and industrial entities’ entourage which are representing Portugal at the International Paris Air Show. The event takes place in Le Bourget, France, until 23rd June.
The national delegation, led by idD – Plataforma das indústrias de Defesa Nacionais, AED Cluster Portugal, aicep Portugal Global and FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, is composed of about 30 entities with relevant activity in the Aeronautics, Space and Defense.
INEGI is in a prominent place in the Portuguese stand dedicated to the projects demonstration (stand C39, hall 3). We are introducing Flexible Aircraft, a new aircraft concept with a cabin that can reconfigure itself to transport people or merchandise, or for civil protection missions. The FLEXCRAFT
project is co-promoted by INEGI, SET (Engineering and Transformation Society S.A.), Almadesign, Embraer Portugal and Instituto Superior Técnico and is co-financed by the COMPETE 2020 programme.
On the first day of the event, the national exhibition space was visited by the Minister of National Defense, João Gomes Cravinho, the Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education, Manuel Heitor, and the Secretary of State for Internationalization, Eurico Brilhante Dias. Throughout the event it is also planned to hold institutional and business meetings between Portuguese entities and the delegations of the different countries represented.
Considered one of the most important worldwide events in the Aeronautics, Space and Defense sectors, the 53rd edition of the Paris Air Show brings together more than 2300 exhibitors from around 50 countries and expects around 320000 visitors.
