INEGI presents its competencies on composites at IRT Jules Verne Innovation Days
INEGI was one of the research and development institutions invited to present their competences and activities at the technological event organized by the Jules Verne Institute, in Nantes (France).
The Jules Verne Institute is an industrial research center dedicated to advanced production technologies, with application in the aerospace, automotive, energy, shipbuilding and equipment sectors. On 23 and 24 May, it opened doors to other entities with common interests, such as INEGI. The invitation to the event strengthened the collaboration between the two entities with activity in the area of the advanced processes of manufacture of composites.
In this context, INEGI participated in a panel of presentations dedicated to the identification of potential partnerships for new projects under the Research and Innovation Framework Programme Horizon 2020 (H2020). Nuno Rocha, business development responsible for Materials and Composite Structures, presented the experience capital and strategic lines of the institution for innovation in the area of composite materials. One of the stakes is precisely the establishment of solid partnerships with international reference entities.
Over the last 30 years, INEGI’s specialized teams have developed new solutions for composite materials, structures and processes to meet different industrial challenges, especially in the automotive, aeronautics, space and defense sectors. Currently, at INEGI, there are 31 projects underway in this area, of which 5 are co-financed by the European Commission (H2020 and Clean Sky programmes).
