On May 29, INEGI will host a workshop on the results of the MAESTRI project - an European project that aims to optimize the sustainability of the industry and production processes. Registration is open and available HERE
The workshop will include the presentation of results of two portuguese industrial pilots, with companies GLN Plast and MCG - Manuel Conceição Graça, where an innovative approach called MAESTRI Total Efficiency Framework was implemented, with the installation of an integrated energy and materials management platform, based on the Internet of Things (IoT).
"Using innovative methodologies to characterize and manage the efficiency of industrial processes and methodologies of industrial symbiosis, a platform has been created that allows the improvement of both the productive efficiency and the eco-efficiency of companies", explains António Baptista, researcher responsible for the project in INEGI.
During the development phase, INEGIs team of experts contributed to the management and development of an integrated approach to assess efficiency and eco-efficiency, using two methodologies, MSM-Multi-Layer Stream Mapping and eco-PROSYS, developed by the Institute.
INEGI also supported the implementation of the consortium pilots held in Portugal, the focus of this event, as well as the pilots held with german companies JW Ostendorf and WORLEÉ Chemie.
The initiative will feature a detailed discussion of the projects approach to improve the industrial sustainability of companies, and to conclude, a panel of experts will discuss "the role of management models and digitization to improve industrial sustainability."
The MAESTRI project is co-funded by the European Horizon 2020 program and brings together 15 entities in consortium, including companies and technology centers in several European countries.
